Annual Camping Trip
July 19-21 was our annual camping trip up the Redman Campground with the Boyack Fam! It was a great time...as always. We got our favorite campground and set up camp on Monday. It didn't take the kids long at all to be covered with dirt!
Things we did while we were there: we walked in the meadow looking for deer and moose, ate great food, walked around Silver Lake, played hide and go seek, ate more food, chopped wood, caught groundhogs, played in the river, got dirty, roasted marshmallows and hotdogs, got mosquito bites, laughed, didn't sleep because of crying kids and sleeping on the hard ground, fed groundhogs, floated boats down the stream, got rained on during our last night, played in the hammock, played with cousins, had all the snacks/candy we could ever want, took fun pictures, and had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!
We look forward every year to this camping trip. Thanks MOM and DAD for a fantastic fun time!

Kali had a great idea...to put a dirty bucket on her head!

She did it!!

Grandpa, Makena and Tyler feeding the groundhogs cheerios with peanut butter on them.

This little groundhog doesn't know what's coming. He thinks he is just getting a little peanut butter snack...but little does he know...

He was caught by Jarel!!

Grandma and Kali

Kali not too happy that Makena was taking a picture of her.

A moose that was in the meadow near our camp.

Same moose...Jarel got closer for this shot.

Cute Tyler

One of the many groundhogs we saw while on our walk around Silver Lake

The groundhogs would come right up to us. They didn't seem to be scared of people at all. Here is Makena getting close to one of the groundhogs.

Jenny, Gretchen, Grandpa, Grandma, Andrew and Heather. Makena went on a hike to try and find deer and moose. She wanted to take my camera so she could take pictures. Here are some pictures that she took while on her hike (all the ones without her in them). She would find a perfect spot and tell the group to stand there so that she could get a picture of them. The pictures she took go all the way to the one of "Mickey Mouse Mountain." She did a great job taking these pictures and was so proud of herself.

Tyler feeding a groundhog

Tyler and Ryan trying to feed groundhogs. It was hard for these little guys because they couldn't hod still long enough to feed them. Tyler did feed a couple on his own!

Grandpa helping Tyler to see if a groundhog would come eat their peanut butter. They weren't so lucky.

Tyler loved using this hammer to hit the dirt with.

A very messy boy. He would pick up dirt and put it on his head.

Kali swinging in the hammock.

Grandpa and Kali roasting marshmallows.

Tyler showing me his marshmallow. He didn't like it too well.

Kali eating her marshmallow. This year we got HUGE marshmallows. They were about 3 times the size of regular marshmallows...so that means 3 times the yummyness when roasted!

Makena eating a roasted starburst. Heather brought the starburst up and Makena loved them roasted.

Tyler helping Jarel cut wood for the fire. After the wood was cut, Tyler would carry it to the wood pile.

Tyler playing in the dirt he had shoveled up.

Tyler before his bath.

Tyler during his bath. He didn't like it at all and just wanted to get out. I had to hurry and wash him up and once he was out and dried off...a much happier boy.

Kali before her bath

Kali taking a bath...looking so much cleaner!

Gretchen, Kali, Makena and Tyler

Tyler sitting on a tree root...eating a treat.

Makena playing on the rock

Kali, Tyler and Makena by the outhouse. It was STINKY!

Kali, Dad and Tyler. Makena took this picture!

Ryan and Gretchen. Makena really wanted a picture of the two of them by themselves, so she was able to capture this picture on one of the many trips to the bathroom!

Makena took this picture of the waterfall we would walk by every day.
