Grandpa and Grandma Boyack

Horse Project

Last Tuesday, we went to Erma's house to visit the horses. Kali has a report due for school when we get back on track. She decided to do it on horses and needs to interview someone to get questions answered. It was a fun little outing for us. The kids got to feed the horses, chickens and baby cows. It is nice to have an Aunt that has a farm at her house :)

Giving Minnie a Ride

Hailey has learned to drive the 4 wheeler and loves it. She likes going fast (still needs to watch where she is going sometimes), and will ride it until the battery goes dead. On Saturday, she had been playing with her Minnie Mouse outside pushing her in the stroller, but then decided to take her on a ride. I tied Minnie around Hailey's waist, and off they went. It was so cute to watch her and this big Minnie on the back of the 4 wheeler!

Hailey and Marc

Here are the pictures to the post I wrote about. Hailey sitting with Marc at church and the picture of our family (including Marc) Hailey drew for Marc.

All I want for Christmas...

is my 2 front teeth!!!
Kali's front teeth have been wiggling since November, but this last week they have really been wiggling. She has been so excited about how wiggly they were. Yesterday morning she bit into her breakfast and the first tooth started to bleed. I was able to pull it out really fast. She was thrilled! I asked her if she wanted the other tooth to fall out the same day and have the tooth fairy bring her an extra surprise because she got 2 out in one day, or if she wanted the tooth fairy to come 2 nights in a row. She opted for the 2 nights in a row. So we didn't mess with the other tooth and was hoping it would come out today. Last night we went to Ikea and the kids got some chicken strips for dinner. Kali took one bite, and her 2nd tooth started to bleed. With 2 pulls, that tooth was out too. So she ended up loosing both teeth yesterday! When she woke up this morning to 3 dollars and 2 bags of candy, it didn't matter that she lost both in one day. I love her smile, love when both top teeth are out at the same time!

"My Marc"

We went this morning to drop off the picture Hailey drew for Marc. Marc wasn't at his house, so we tried his sister's home. Marc's truck was there, so Hailey knew he was there. We rang the door bell and Marc's sister (Michelle) answered the door, but told us that Marc was still asleep and asked if we would come back later. As we were leaving, Hailey had such a disappointment on her face and she said, "Mom, I see Marc's truck. I need my Marc!" She didn't understand how his truck was there, but yet he didn't come to the door.
We went later and when Marc opened it, Hailey was excited. She gave him the 2 pictures she made for him and some jelly beans, and a big hug. If I let her, I think Hailey would be over there every day. She loves Marc.

Thinking of Marc

I need to post this before I forget, and will add pictures later.
Hailey has found a forever friend in Marc. She talks about him quite often at home.
We were headed to church and I told Hailey that maybe Marc will be at church today. She was excited and was happy to walk/run to church. We get to church and she couldn't see Marc. I told her he might come later. She then went about setting up the hymn books on the chairs and then coming to sit by me and we waited for the meeting to start. We usually get there 15 minutes early and Marc arrives usually when the meeting is about to begin. So Hailey didn't see Marc come in. The sacrament comes and Hailey then realizes that Marc had come in. She got a big smile on her face. She had wanted to give Marc a hug. I took her out to go to the bathroom when the sacrament had finished, and when we got back in she asked if she could give Marc a hug. I let her go up to him, and at first she just stood there, Marc had his head in his hands and wasn't looking at her. But a lady behind Marc tapped him and told him he had a visitor. He looked up and then looked at Hailey and Marc got the biggest smile and said, "HI". He picked her up and they hugged for a good minute. It was such a sweet thing to witness. I had to hold back the tears. But I saw tears of the lady behind, tears in Marc's eyes and tears in Marc's sister's eyes. Hailey has really attached herself to Marc. After the hug, Marc just held her on his lap the rest of the meeting. They colored and talked. When the meeting was finished, I went and got her and told Marc I hope he didn't mind her coming to him. And he said, "not at all, I loved it." We left sacrament meeting and I took Hailey to primary. Hailey has a hard time going to class (she wants to go back to nursery), so I sat with her. Next thing I know, here comes Marc into the primary room and puts a candy necklace around Hailey's neck. Priceless. I don't know why Hailey has attached herself to Marc, but it is a blessing for me to witness.
Later yesterday, I messaged Marc just saying thanks for letting Hailey sit by him and how she had been waiting for him and how it made her day. His reply put me in tears: "I truly consider her my little angel. She is always welcome to come sit with me. I savored every minute of it. She brings me so much comfort I can't begin to explain. She just seems to know when I need a bit of comfort. I am so blessed to know her and to have your family in the ward. Thank u thank u!!! I'm not sure why she is so aware of me but am so very touched by it. It is my day she made!"
And then as we were driving last night to my parents for dinner Hailey, out of the blue, says "Mom, I go to my treasure box and get all my money and next day I give to Marc!" What a sweet spirit she is.
Today she drew a picture for Marc. She drew our family and drew 8 people…Marc was included in that drawing. She told me that she wants to see Marc and give it to him. And she is excited again for Sunday to see him. This little friendship has brought so much of the spirit to me. I love it. I tear up every time I think of it. Hailey indeed has a big heart and loves everyone!

Hailey

Hailey had a scab on her forehead, and she needed a bandaid to put on it. We only had this big bandaid, but she was so proud to wear it.

I gave all my headbands away just this week, so I had to hurry and make some for her for church. She picked out the flower to wear on Sunday

BYU Volleyball Game

My 4 baldies
This past Saturday we took the kids to a BYU volleyball game. Jarel and I went to a lot of games while we were dating and first married. We haven't been back for a long time, so we decided to go. We usually watch the games on TV and the kids have gotten into the games and enjoyed watching them, so we said we would take them. We first headed to Cafe Rio for dinner down in Provo. While there, we had lots of looks our way when they saw Hailey with no hair. Made me wonder if they thought she had cancer and the boys shaved their heads to support her. Also made me think that you can never judge someone you don't know because you don't know their story. It was fun seeing all the looks, pointing and staring. We didn't mind at all, and just went about our eating.
The game was a fun game to watch. BYU swept (which I was glad, by the last game Kali wanted to lay down and sleep, Braxton wanted to run all around, and Hailey was just done). It was fun to go back and Makena asked if we could do it again. I think we will!

St Patrick's Day

The kids set up the Leprechaun trap the night before

After they set up the trap, the kids decided it needed gold (rolls) to lure the Leprechauns in the trap

Happy Kids. On the trap they wrote, Welcome Leprechauns: Gold and Rainbows inside!

When the kids woke up they found that the Leprechauns were mischievous last night. They found their shoes in the oven, chairs turned upside down, all the water (plant water, humidifier water, toilet water, bottle water) were all green, the milk was green, clothes were up on our ceiling fan and their pots were hidden. The kids were able to find their pots and found gold chocolate coins inside.

Tyler got a Leprechaun catching kit at school. He was determined to catch one. Him and Makena spent a good portion of the afternoon outside trying to catch one. They couldn't get one, but they have plans already for a better trap next year.

You have to wear green ears and all green so you can look like a Leprechaun so they will come to you. He also got some string to tie them up, a bell to ring so the Leprechauns will come, a feather to tickle them with and a Laffy Taffy to tell the Leprechaun a joke when he catches one.

Making the trap the night before. They had a great time…They made the trap tall hoping that if a Leprechaun fell in, it wouldn't be able to get out. This morning, the trap was on its side and the words "nice try" were written on the trap.

St. Patrick's day has become a favorite holiday for me. I love the mischievous of the day, the green with everything and the kids trying to plan on how to catch a Leprechaun. It was a fun day!
