Dentist

Playing games while waiting for the "funny gas" to work.

Before...

After...

Makena had to have her front left tooth pulled (She had her front right tooth pulled a couple of years ago after falling from the kitchen table and it going infected. This left tooth just was not coming out and her right tooth was coming in and the dentist said usually they both come in together. So back in October when she had her dentist appt, the dentist said that we should probably pull it since it was not wiggly at all, and it was looking yellow like it was dead. The dentist pulled it and it didn't take much to pull it out, it was just hanging on by a little but just didn't want to come out on its own.) Makena also had a cavity that needed to be filled as well.

Tooth is out...that meant the tooth fairy came last night and brought money and a treat!

8 Months

My little man is 8 months!
Since I didn't do a 7 month post...I will combine the 2 and let you know the new things he has done.
1. He started crawling (more like gets to his knees and lunges forward...but still gets where he wants to go)/scooting on Nov 2nd. That is so early for him to be moving around (just over 6 months old). It has been so fun to watch him move his way to items he wants.
2. He got his first left top tooth on Nov 12th.
3. He got his first right top tooth on Nov 18th. It did not seem to bother him a lot about these teeth coming in!
4. Went to Wheeler Farm and really enjoyed being outside in the sun and seeing the animals.
5. First Thanksgiving. Didn't get to enjoy all the yummy food, but did get a jar of baby carrots!
6. He started real crawling right on his 7th month mark.
7. He had a first field trip to the fire station. Slept through most of it!
8. Lots and lots of Christmas parties and unwrapping of gifts.
9. Seeing Santa for the first time and really did a great job. One Santa almost got his beard taken off by Braxton!
8. Introduced to yogurt and really likes it.
10. Still waking up once during the night and is still sleeping in our bed which I love! The easiest way to put him to bed at night is to lay him on our bed and snuggle him in a blanket and then I lay by him and he has to be touching me, either his hand in my hand rubbing it or his hand on my face, and then he goes right sleep!

Christmas Day

See the tree Christmas morning

Tyler got a kid spot it game and LOVES this game. We play it quite a bit.

Makena got a "real" camera from Santa and loves taking pictures with it.

Hailey and her puppy!

The kids each got a towel with their names embroidered on them.

Writing in a notebook she got

First Christmas for this little one. He loved loved loved ripping off the wrapping paper and got mad when the other kids wouldn't let him touch their stuff! He would crawl from person to person hoping someone would let them take their gift and open it up!

Grandpa Hathaway feeding Braxton!

Watching a movie on Makena's "i-pad"

Grandpa Boyack, Tyler and Jacob in the super hero masks Tyler got. An absolute favorite gift!
Christmas Day was wonderful. The kids got up around 7:00 and were so excited to see what Santa had left them. We do not put our gifts to the kids out until Christmas Eve as well because of little ones that would open all the gifts. So for the kids to see an empty tree when they go to be...to a tree full of presents underneath is so much fun. We opened gifts, had a yummy breakfast and opened more gifts. Then the rest of the morning was filled with playing with the things we got for Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway came over and had lunch with us and then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Boyack's house in the afternoon to visit with family. Makena really wanted an i-pad for Christmas, and was happy to have gotten a kindle fire Christmas morning. She calls it her i-pad. Kali got a leap pad 2 (a kids i-pad), Tyler wanted a DS and got it, Hailey got toys and a stuffed dog she really loves and sleeps with it at night and Braxton got blocks and other toys. Among those top items they got spoiled and got plenty of other gifts. They were all happy with what they got this year!! A successful year!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year was spent at Grandpa and Grandma Boyack's house. We had dinner and did the Nativity and played some minute to win it games. Braxton really liked the cans with money it that we used for one of the games. After we spent time there, we came home and the kids gave eachother the gifts they had bought. They each draw a name and give to that person. The kids love going to the store and picking out a surprise for the person they picked. Then we got out cookies for Santa, carrots for the reindeer and treats for Ellis our Elf. A great time and the excitement keeps building for Christmas morning!

Nativity

Made me smile to see a "donkey" in the play!

The littlest angel was tired and needed a ride on the donkey after she did her part!

The kids doing the Nativity at Grandma and Grandpa Boyack's house on Christmas Eve.

Reindeer Dust

The kids spreading the annual "Reindeer Dust" on Christmas Eve to make sure Rudolph will guide Santa Claus to our house! The kids loved doing this every year. This year we put in oats, craisins, carrots and glitter.
