Tonight I had a peach and had it stolen from me by a little girl! She got a hold of it and was going to town eating it. It was so fun to watch. She ate quite a bit of it and would get mad if I tried taking it away!

BUZZ
Meet Buzz!
He is our new little kitten. The kids absolutely love him and fight over him constantly has to who gets to hold him. I had to start setting a timer as to who can "be in charge" and gets to say what Buzz gets to do, etc. It has helped with them not fight as much. There are still tears when their turn is up...but we are working on sharing.
He is a good little kitten. He didn't come litter trained, but has done a fantastic job in that department, only using the litter box to go bathroom. He wasn't eating great the first day, so I went and got him some wet cat food to mix in with his dry cat food and is now eating great and eating more and more dry cat food each day. The girls have really liked holding him on the couch as they watch a movie and having Buzz sleep on their lap. The kids couldn't be more excited to have a pet of their very own!

Nine Months
Miss Hailey turned 9 months!
Some things that are new since month 8 are: She has 2 teeth. She loves Cheetos.
She can be lying down and sit up on her own. She is crawling all over the place. She can pull herself up to a standing position with the help of the couch. She loves crawling around on the trampoline. She likes sitting on the grass and pulling it out. She is very ticklish under the chin. She tried sleeping in her crib...didn't work so well. She loves playing in her sibling's bedrooms with all their toys. She is so darn cute (okay, that's nothing new...been like that since day one!)

Kitty House
What are we thinking?????
The kids are getting a kitten.
Here they are helping Dad build a house for this kitten.
It is going to be an outside kitten and needs something cozy and warm.
They worked really hard on it to make sure it will be just right for the kitten.
We pick up the kitten in 2 days....AHHHHH

Your Dash
How Do You Spend Your Dash?
I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on tombstone from beginning-to the end.
He noted that first came her date of birth and spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. (1934-1998)
For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth...
And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own: the cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard...Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left, that can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real
And always try to understand the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile...
Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy's being read with your life's actions to rehash...
Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?

Kindergarten Zoo
At school today, Makena had her Kindergarten zoo and a graduation program. She had to go dressed up as 2 animals morphed together. She went as a LadybugCat! She had a button on them, and when someone came up to her and pushed her button, she had to give them her little report. She said, "I am a Ladybug. I am a Cat. A cat is a mammal. A ladybug is an insect. A cat has fur." She did it all memorized!!
Then they did a little program with some songs they have learned throughout the year. After their little program, Mrs. Thayer presented them with their Dolphin Award and a Graduation picture. It was fun to go see her and see her progress she has made this year. She has LOVED Mrs. Thayer as her teacher and is sad to leave her and Mrs. Paige behind. But is happy she will get to see them during the day when she is in 1st grade. She has 4 more days of Kindergarten left! This year has gone by really fast, she has improved so much and has learned so much. She got her PALS scores and at the beginning of the school year she got 34 points and at the end of the school year she got 95 points plus 34 bonus points (there are 10 areas that she has to pass off). And she is reading at a 1st grade level. She is a great student.

Baby Talk
We watched Zoe today and it was fun watching her and Hailey "talk" to one another. They played with that car for a good 5-10 minutes just babbling and giggling with eachother. Then we had cookies and milk and Hailey was trying her hardest to get to Zoe's cup...but Zoe wasn't going to let her get it. So Hailey snagged a cookie when Zoe wasn't looking. She was happy with her snag!
Hailey's 2 teeth
A Moth
Kali came running in the house today saying that there was "a moth under the trampoline and Makena was giving it water. You have to come see." So, off we went outside to see this moth. It was all wet from her giving it a drink. Makena wanted to capture it and save it. She came in and got a cup to put it in...she had her "pet" for just a short time before she set it free...so it wouldn't die inside her cup!

Whoopee Cushion
Today we went to visit Grandpa Boyack at his work. We really enjoy surprising him! Whenever we go, Grandpa spoils them and tries to find something for the kids to take home with them. He found some pens for the girls that they love. But then he couldn't find anything for Tyler until he opened his drawer and found a whoopee cushion. Tyler has been in heaven with it. It took him a little bit to figure out how to blow it up by himself...but once he did, he was blowing it up and then standing or sitting on it and saying "I poop." (his saying for farting) He would blow it up again and tell others it was there turn to poop. He would laugh and he thought it was so funny. It was the perfect little gift for Tyler!! ALL BOY!!!

2 1/2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OUR BASEMENT IS ALMOST DONE!!!! We have carpet schedule to come in 2 1/2 weeks...so we have to finish by then! That means...it is almost done! It has been a long 3 years coming and now the end is in sight. We have been putting in so many hours getting it all done. All we have let to do before the carpet comes is finish putting in the baseboards in the bathroom and main room, put in the laminate flooring in the main room, and paint and caulk the baseboards and casing around the doors. I think we can get it all done...with even time to spare! Jarel has done a great job! He was able to do the tile in the bathroom with some guidance from his dad, and do the laminate flooring with some help from our neighbor. We were going to have the tile done by a neighbor...but we rethought and Jarel really wanted to do it so he could say he did all aspects of finishing the basement! The basement might not be the "best" but I think Jarel has made it "the best!" He has put in so many working hours and has done, I think, one heck of a job!! So when you see us skipping and running around on July 7th, you will know the carpet is in and the basement will be livable!!! We won't know what to do with all our spare time when it is done! Once all decorated, I will repost pictures to show you all!

Crawler...and other stuff!
Hailey is crawling! Watch out...here she comes! She started crawling on Makena's birthday and by Monday...she had it down. She can get anywhere she wants. Not too speedy at the moment...but that will change in a hurry. Growing so fast.
Just some other little side notes: On June 6th was the first day she could sit up on her own from lying down.
She loves balloons.
If you stand Hailey up to something...she can stand on her own for a little while.
She loves macaroni and cheese.
She is doing well on regular milk. I have been giving her some every now and then and she is doing great on it.
She loves pulling down the DVDs in my room.
