Phone Number
Makena has been learning her phone number and has it down. It is fun to see her learn new things!

Dinner Idea
Just wanted to post a recipe that I came across. We had it last night for dinner. It turned out to be pretty good. The girls and Jarel all ate it, and I had no left overs. Always a good sign.
Easy Turkey Stromboli
1 pkg. (11 oz.) refrigerated thin crust pizza crust
1 cup pasta sauce, divided
1 pkg. (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained (I didn't put this in)
1/2 cup shredded Colby & Monterey Jack cheese blend
2 tsp. grated parmesan
2 tsp. milk
1 lb. turkey-breast tenderloins, cut into strips (I used chicken)
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Boil a cup of water on medium in a large skillet: add turkey and return to boiling. Cover; simmer 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly, then chop.
Unroll crust into a 14"x12" rectangle on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. (I would recommend spraying the baking sheet. I didn't, and the bottom stuck a little.) Spoon half the sauce down the center, lengthwise, leaving 3" on either side. Layer spinach, turkey, and cheese over sauce. Cut 12 strips on both sides of crust. Fold strips over filling, so they overlap. Brush with milk and sprinkle with Parmesan.
Bake for 12 minutes. Serve with remaining sauce.
I also put some Italian seasoning on top of the crust.
Try it out and hope you enjoy it.

Woops...
I didn't realize how tired I was until I sat down with Makena to watch cartoons this afternoon. Kali and Tyler were asleep and Makena loves to watch "Pinky Dinky Doo", so I joined her in the watching. The next thing I knew, the cartoon was over! Thanks "Pinky Dinky Doo" for watching my child and allowing me a 30 minute nap!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all. Hope you had a fun day, like we did. We went on a treasure hunt to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, we all wore green so we would not get pinched, for dinner we had green milk, green applesauce and noodles with "grass" (spinach), and we got to enjoy the beautiful weather and play outside.

Aunt Erma's Farm
Thursday we took a trip to my Aunt Erma's house to see all of her animals. The girls had a great time seeing the new baby lambs, sheep, dog, cats, horses, chickens and rabbits. Makena and Kali both got to ride their horse named Bart. Makena sat on Bart for quite awhile. Kali was quite happy sitting on Bart, until Bart sneezed. Kali was off Bart fast and didn't want to go back on. Aunt Erma got out all the animals so the girls could touch them. Makena really enjoyed touching their cows, "T-bone" and "Sirloin", their bunny "Willow" and she really loved the horse, "Bart." Kali couldn't get enough of the chickens. She just stood by their pens saying, "chicken, chicken, chicken." Thanks Aunt Erma for the fun field trip!

Our Moose
I took Tyler to his 2 month check up today. They did the usual: weight, length, head circumfrence, listened to his lungs, heart and stomach, checked his ears, legs, pulses and gave him 3 shots and a oral vaccination. He passed all the tests. He now weighs 15 lbs. 3 oz., 24.1 inches long, and has a head circumfrence of 16.1 inches. That puts his head in the 75th percentile, his length in the 95th percentile and his weight is ABOVE the ranges, so he is over the 100 percentile. The doctor said that he is actually thin for his height! It is so fun to see the difference between your children. I got out the girls books today just to see the difference and Makena was 15 lbs. 5 oz. at 6 months and Kali was 15 lbs. 5 oz. at 4 months. So if Makena was 15 lbs. at 6 months, Kali was 15 lbs. at 4 months and Tyler is 15 lbs. at 2 months, will my next child be born 15 pounds...I sure hope not!

I should have known better...
I should have known better than to leave Kali alone with a writing utensil and paper. Nothing was written on the paper...it was all over my walls. We spent the next 30 minutes cleaning off the walls. Luckily it was just pencil and came right off. I now have clean walls as you walk downstairs!

"I want to get out!"
This was the response Makena gave when the 3 were bathing and Tyler peed in the bathtub. It was quite hilarious.

The Living Planet Aquarium
Today we ventured to The Living Planet Aquarium. The girls love going there and since we haven't been for a long time, I decided to take them there to give us something to do today. They have a new section called "Journey to South America" and we spent the majority of the time there. We got to see an anaconda, turtle, big fish, little fish, an electric eel, and frogs. They had two big tanks that Kali and Makena could walk right up to and see the fish. Makena also loved touching the star fish and seeing the jelly fish turn colors. Kali was afraid to touch the star fish, but she did it. Kali had a great time looking at the sharks and the coral reef exibit. She could stand up on the step and see the fish really well. We had a great time, and I didn't even loose a child in the process!

Finger Painting
OutSmarted
We have again been outsmarted by a 1 year old. The duct tape we used on Kali's diaper is of no use anymore. She has figured that if she pulls on her diaper really hard from the side, the diaper slips off just like underwear. When Kali woke up from her nap yesterday, she called out to me and I went in there to find her completely naked and her crib wet (you can guess what from.) She is just too smart!
