Happy 60th!

Happy Birthday to a great Dad and Grandpa! Today we celebrated Neil's 60th with a family BBQ. The kids loved playing with their cousins. Everyone was able to be there this year...and that was fun! Hope you had a great day! We love you!

After coming home from the Princess Festival with Makena, Jarel was telling me about his day. He was telling me about Kali having some accidents while I was gone and still her not wanting to poop in the potty but poop in her underwear. He had to throw 2 pairs away today! Anyway, as he we were talking, Kali decided she needed to go into the bathroom and go potty. After a few minutes, Jarel went in and saw Kali like this!

She loves dipping her butt into the water, and swooshing it around. She gets a kick out of it and if we let her, she would have sat there for hours, I am sure. She makes us laugh...that's for sure!

Princess Festival

Today Makena was able to go to a princess festival with her cousin, Allicen. It was 2 hours of princess everything. The girls go to go on a treasure hunt to do different tasks that princess do, and at the very end of the treasure hunt, they measured their shoe and gave them a secret code to tell the prince. The prince tried on shoes to see if "the shoe fit" and if it fit, they were a true princess. Makena's secret code was chocolate and what do you know...the shoe fit! She got a book to take home and in that book was a place where they could get autographs of all the characters that were there.

Next they got to go on an adventure and try and make all the season princesses, turn good. They went to talk with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Cinderella told them of their important mission and that they had to conquer the first 3 seasons by themselves (this scared Makena because she thought she had to go alone without me, but after telling her I was coming, she was more at east), but the last season, they would be there to help them out. They went to the spring season and planted seeds, the fall season where they got to see Snow Whites cottage, the summer season where they got to see the Little Mermaid change into a human and then they got to the winter season where Cinderella came and helped them defeat the winter princess. There they got to see a little play and see Tiana (the frog princess). Makena had a fun time seeing all the characters and being a princess for the day.

Makena even got to play with Wendy, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell. She got to sit in Cinderella's carriage, have a tea party with Alice and the Queen of hearts, and she got to be all pampered with glitter, lotion, body spray and fairy dust. She did a little craft and made a bag and also walked around in the Little Mermaid's fountain.

She loved the day and loved spending time with Allicen, and Grandma!

Sprinkler under the Trampoline

It has been hot lately and Makena has been begging to put the sprinkler under the trampoline. We finally were able to do it tonight. They probably jumped for 2 hours, laughing and smiling the entire time. The neighbor kids came over and played with them. They love it when friends come over!

Tyler loved sitting under the tramp watching the water drops fall!

Get me out of here...I'm stuck in this cage!

Splash Park

Today, I took the kids to the splash park for a little relief from the hot sun. I didn't know quite what to expect from Tyler, if he would like it or not...but he loved it and was right in the water with the girls. It was a fun little outing! They had fun running around, splashing water at themselves, drinking the water, using the squirters to try and squirt people (Tyler was right in there with the girls trying to reach the squirter. Makena had to help him reach it) and playing with the other kids there. We also were able to bring a picnic to eat there.
