For Hailey's big 5 month mark...we celebrated by giving her squash. Did she like it...NO. Did she hate it...NO. We think she tolerated it!

5 Months
Hailey is now 5 months old. She is getting so big! It is so sad that she is growing so fast. Here is what she has been up too this past month: She has tasted rice cereal, she is getting much more vocal and movable. She loves to try and grab things...especially my dinner. She is starting to show some interest in rolling over. She loves to eat still and does so every 2-3 hours during the day and will still wake up about 1-2 times at night. I know when she is going on a growth spurt because she is up 2-3 times at night and during the day I can't keep up with feeding her. She loves to smile at everyone that will pay attention to her. She is a happy, loving, cuddly, pooping, pretty blue eye, and smiley baby!

Finding the Bullet
Tyler was shooting his nerf gun and one of the bullets landed on top of our pantry. Nobody saw it go up there except for Tyler. When Jarel went to reload the gun, one of the bullets was missing and he asked the kids if they had seen it. Tyler went by the pantry and said, "up there." So Jarel lifted him up and he said, "there it is" and so Jarel put him up there to get it. The first picture is him showing he got dust all over his hands (need to clean up there more often). Second picture he got the bullet and the third picture is Jarel getting him down. And it was even more wonderful when the home teachers came over and saw Jarel and Tyler in that 3rd picture!

Got Milk?
Tonight we went to Gecko's for dinner with Grandpa and Grandma Hathaway. Neil was holding Hailey. While the waitress was bringing out the food...Hailey was starting to grab at Neil's food. Neil said, "Hailey do you want some?" Kali yelled, "NO SHE EATS MOM'S BOOBS!" We all laughed. Neil said, "Yes she does, and I'm not even going there." It was a enjoyable evening!

My Little Princess
After playing with the blocks...the kids ran into their bedroom and were playing. About 15 minutes later, they came out. Tyler was in the Sleeping Beauty dress and Kali was in the Cinderella dress and they were going to the "ball to dance." After the dance, they ran back into the room and changed dresses and did it again. My BOY loves dressing up in the princess dresses. It's what you do when you've got 2 older sisters. He just doesn't like me taking pictures of him in them!
Building Houses
Here are the kids playing with the blocks today. The girls were making houses to have a whole neighborhood. And then the big giant monster (Tyler) would come and knock them all over and they would have to start again. Sometimes Kali and Makena didn't mind him knocking them over, other times Mom had to stop the yelling and fighting and take the monster back to his spot to build.

4 months/2 year Doctor's Appointments
Today, I took Tyler and Hailey to their doctor's appointment for their well visits. They both did great. Tyler got weighed, measured and the doctor listened to him and Tyler sat there and did everything they asked him to do. Hailey was measured and weighed as well, got a checked out by the doctor and also had to have 2 shots. She did great, didn't even cry, just looked at me in a "something went into my leg, it didn't feel good, but I don't know what it is" look on her face. Doctor Dallen told me that they both look great, and growing well. Hailey was being a little flirt with the doctor and nurse. She kept smiling at them and cooing for them. After the visit, Tyler got a tub toy which he was super excited about and told me is was going to "scare Kali and Ma-na"

Big Help
While Tyler was napping and Makena was at school...Kali wanted to sit with Hailey. So we got out the chair and Kali was able to sit by her. Kali also wanted a picture of her puppy with Hailey as well. Kali is a great big sister to Hailey. Loves to hold her, help change her, sit/lay with her and always has to be touching Hailey when around her. She is a "big help" with Hailey.

Rotten Corn
Last night at the dinner table, we had a funny experience for us. To set it up...Jarel likes canned corn. I cannot stand the stuff. I think it smells bad and tastes horrible. My kids have never tasted it, because I just don't serve it. So last night, we had chicken and rice and I was looking for a vegetable to go with it. I had some avacados that I wanted, so as a nice wife, I thought Jarel would like the canned corn. I got a can, plugged my nose and opened up the stuff. I heated it up and then when I was serving the dinner, I put some corn on the kids plates. I didn't know what they would think of it, but I didn't say a word to them and just let them taste it and see what happens. Makena was excited to see corn on her plate, because she likes corn. She took a kernel and ate it and didn't eat another bite. She told Kali that the corn was rotten and not to eat it. I was laughing because Jarel doesn't understand why I can't stand the stuff. So when Makena said that, it was awesome! So the rest of the night if one of the kids was teasing or wasn't listening...we told them they had to go eat the "rotten corn!" Jarel's corn was eaten up...don't know how he does it! He must not have great taste buds!
