Just some pictures of the kids as we were outside pulling weeds from the flower beds. Hailey loved just piling the dirt on her legs. She sat there for a good 20 minutes digging in the dirt. Tyler and Kali were just being silly.

What a DAY!!!
Makena had quite the day today. First it started by being Tuesday. And Tuesday at school means Pizza Day for lunch!! She loves having pizza on Tuesdays. Also Tuesday means The Biggest Looser is on T.V. Makena counts down the days to the Biggest Looser. One of her favorite shows to watch!
She also had Grandparent's Day at school and put on a program for her Grandpas and Grandmas. Both sets of Grandparents were able to come, which was special for her. Makena did a great job with all of her singing and poems that they did. After the program, she was able to show Grandpas and Grandmas her classroom, give them each a cookie and she gave them a note she colored and wrote for them. It was fun to see her so excited about them coming to her school. She was even able to go to a book fair where both Grandmas bought her some books. She came home from school and read all 3 books. She loves her new books.
After school, Makena mentioned that her loose tooth hurt. I looked at it and it was very close to coming out. We tried wiggling it and pulling at it (until Makena said no more) but it wouldn't come out. We left it alone until we were watching The Biggest Looser and Makena said it felt like her tooth was bleeding. I looked at it again and went to get some floss to see if we could get it out, but as soon as I touched her tooth, out it came!!! Makena couldn't believe that it fell out just that easy. She was so excited and we got out our special "tooth fairy" box to put her tooth in, so she could put it under her pillow that night.
What a fun day she had today!!
(p.s. the tooth fairy brought her a bag of gummy worms and 2 dollars)

Planting our Garden
Jarel got home from work early yesterday...so we thought we would plant peas in our garden. The kids love the thought of doing garden work (I know that will change, but for now, it is a favorite thing). They loved making the rows, planting the seeds, watering the seeds and getting drinks themselves. It was nice to have that part of the garden done. We also got other seeds but have to wait until it is warmer to get those planted.
Tyler marking a row
Makena marking a row
Hailey and Kali
Hailey was in charge of the pea seeds. And she made sure they stayed in her hands and not her siblings.
Tyler throwing...I mean planting...the pea seeds.
Kali marking where a pea row was going
Kali planting pea seeds
Makena getting the soil ready for planting the seeds.
Getting a lesson from Dad on how to put the pea seeds in the rows
Hailey decided that after planting peas...the grass needed to be mowed!
Hailey loves jumping on the trampoline
Getting a drink out of the hose. Hailey's favorite part of the afternoon.
Hailey and Tyler watching Makena water the tree
So fun to watch them get a drink from the hose.
Buzz even got in on the action and got a nice cool drink.

Feeding Bart
While we were at Erma's house, Erma let the kids feed Bart, the horse! They were so excited to go see Bart. They fed him bread. All the kids kind of stayed back and tossed in the bread, but not my Kali. She climbed that fence and Kali and Bart met face to face and she fed him the bread. Kali loved it!

Great Brain Project
Today at school, Makena gave her great brain project report. She learned all she could about sheep, we went to my Aunt Erma's house and took pictures and then she presented it to the class. (We made the pictures bigger, and Makena had her report written on the back of the pictures and she held them up and told her class about them.) She was a little scared to get up in front of her class, but she did AWESOME!! She spoke loud and clear, was able to answer the questions from her class and had a smile on her face at the end of the presentation. It is nice to have this report out of the way. She only needs one more item then she can get her Dolphin Award (an award from school) at the end of the year!
