Super Hero

The other day, Kali was helping Jarel paint some blocks that I need. They were just talking and Kali says, "Dad, when I grow up can I be a painter like you? But first I want to be a SUPER HERO with a PURPLE cape, but after that I want to be a painter!"

Happy Birthday Jarel

Happy Birthday!!
The kids have been looking forward to Jarel's birthday for over a week now. They have been coming up with plans that they want to do for him. Tyler has been insisting that he is doing to be putting worms on his Dad's cake (and just giggles everytime he tells me), the girls have been coming up with cards and how we are going to decorate the house.
Most of the kids had fallen asleep on the way home last night, so when they got up this morning, we decorated the house (so that they could participate). We made a birthday sign, and put up balloons. We wrapped gifts and the kids couldn't wait for Dad to wake up.
When Jarel finally came out, the kids were hiding and jumped out and said "Happy Birthday, Dad!" They were so excited.
We had breakfast and then they couldn't wait to give him their gifts. He got a screwdriver set, some clamps (especially picked out by Kali and Tyler) and the new Zelda game (I think that was a mistake...because now I've lost my husband to that game!)
Being "Black Friday," I just had to do some shopping...so we went to Target and Roberts and got nothing spectacular...but it filled my shopping need!
That afternoon, we headed over to his parent's house and spent time there, going to dinner for his birthday and then coming back from cake and ice-cream.
I hope Jarel know how much he is loved and appreciated. He does so much, works so hard, and is just fun to be around. We hope he had a great day!!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Jarel spent the morning playing football with friends, and the kids and I spent the morning watching TV, getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner and finishing up some projects.
When Jarel got home, he got ready and then we loaded up the kids and our stuff and headed to my parents.
The whole family was there (minus Jacob and Katie who are in Kentucky). My Grandma and Grandpa Kofoed, Uncle Bill and my Aunt Cheryl came. There was lots of delicious food that we ate. We played games, watched some football, ate pie and more pie and just had a great time hanging out with the family. It was a great day. We has a family have lots to be thankful for. We are truly blessed and are watched over constantly.

Once There Was A Snowman

It snowed today!! We had plans all lined up for today, but those all fell apart when Jarel had a huge job and worked all day, and Kali got sick. So instead of going to Jarel's Grandma's 90th birthday party, we built a snowman instead. We had a great time, the snow was great for building and the kids were great for knocking down the snowman when they were finished with him. It wasn't what I had in mind to do today, but it turned out to be relaxing and a fun day!

Leaf Jumping

Yesterday I told Jarel that I think we needed to rake up the leaves...and when I said "we," I meant "Jarel and the kids!"
Off they went outside to rake a pile of leaves to play in. Soon all the neighbor kids joined in on the fun! The kids all seemed to be having a great time jumping in the leaves, being covered by leaves and also jumping on the trampoline.
Makena was more interested in playing with her friends (that's why I don't have very many pictures of her), Tyler couldn't get enough of the leaves and Kali enjoyed them as well. I put Hailey in the leaves for a minute, she enjoyed them for that minute then wanted to get out.
I love how a pile of leaves put HUGE SMILES on my kids' faces!
