Happy Birthday Makena!!

Today, Makena turned 5 years old! I can't believe I have a 5 year old. She was so excited to wake up and see that the kitchen/living room was decorated with balloons and a sign (and that they sign was written in her favorite colors). She had her favorite breakfast, fruity pebbles and milk and then asked if we were going yet to Wheeler Farm. I asked her a couple of weeks ago what she wanted to do on her birthday and she wanted to go to Wheeler Farm. So about 9:30, we headed out the door and was at the Farm at 10:00. We met Grandma Boyack, Gretchen, Ryan, Aunt Jenny and Uncle Ben there. We looked at all the animals, rode the wagon ride and ate lunch. We were also surprised to see Grandpa Boyack as we were leaving the Farm. It was a fun morning and the weather was great. A little over cast and cooler!

Birthday Girl, Makena!

Tyler looking at the chickens. I love it when he sits like this!

The workers were getting quite a few horses all saddled up for a ride, so the girls were able to pet the horses and stand on the fence next to them.

Makena with the horses. This was one of her favorite parts of going to the Farm.

Kali and Tyler by the turkeys. Tyler loved the turkeys and would keep walking towards them and just stare at them.

2 cute baby pigs. The girls thought it was pretty funny that one was sleeping in its food dish.

Kali sitting on one of the tractors. Good thing I didn't notice the sign "please don't climb or sit on tractor" until after I took the picture!

Everybody on the wagon ride

While we were eating lunch, all Tyler and Kali wanted to do was run after ducks.

Makena has been asking for a bike for her birthday. So I went and got her a bike and Dad decided that she didn't need to wait for her birthday to give it to her. So last week, he put it together for her. She loves it and rides it every day! She is getting so tricky on it and can even ride while standing up.

Our sidewalk is on a slight hill and it was scary for Makena, at first, to ride down the hill. She would only ride up hill, but now she goes and has a great time.

Tonight Makena had a reception for her preschool teacher that she wanted to go to, so we went there for a few minutes and then off to soccer practice. She got an award for "most improved" for the season. She had a great time there playing. We then went home and Grandma and Grandpa Boyack came over to give her a present and to have donuts with us! Makena loved her birthday and when I was putting her to bed that night she said, "that was a great special day!"

Opening up presents from Grandpa and Grandma

They gave her a whole bunch of "critter books" that Makena loves reading

She got quite a few and we have already read them all.

Waiting as we sang "Happy Birthday"

Getting ready to blow out her candles

One more to go!!

Tyler loved his donuts and kept begging people for more.

It was a fun day and the birthday celebration is not over. Tomorrow we are going to Chuck-E-Cheese's for dinner and then there will be "Cinderella cupcakes" in about a week!

LOVE YOU MAKENA
