Las Vegas

Back in November, Jarel told me that his Dad was going to be sending him to Las Vegas to the "world of concrete" in February. No big deal...but then I thought, wait the kids are off track, can we go?!? Jarel's very nice boss said yes we could tag along. We got the hotel rooms changed to fit us all in! So the girls had a great time off track this time. California trip and Las Vegas trip.
We got there on a Tuesday and went to a little aquarium that night and to dinner. Then Wednesday and Thursday while Jarel was in classes, me and the kids played. We found a "pump it up" bounce place, Costco, Yogurtland, an indoor playground, we toured a chocolate factory and garden, went to a mini M&M world and McDonalds. Most was spent in Henderson, I really didn't want to be downtown Las Vegas by myself and my kids, so we drove to the different places. We had a great time. The weather was in the 70s with sunshine. It was actually a fun get away. After I said I wanted to go, I wasn't sure if that was a good idea as it got closer, with being there with the kids, but we had a great time! It was nice to go back to the hotel and Jarel would come "home" for the night and we would go to dinner. If you asked my kids about Las Vegas, they would tell you it is one of the best places to go. I am grateful for their sweet innocence! And I am grateful that we were safe and protected and enjoyed ourselves.
I get quite a few comments here in Utah when people see me by myself with 5 kids, 7 and under. Going out of state, we really got the comments. Everywhere we went people were coming up to me or Jarel and I (if we were out to dinner with the kids) saying all sorts of things. Here are some of the comments we got those 4 days: "You sure have your hands full, don't you?" "Now, how many more samples do you need?" (at Costco) " "You are brave to bring all your kids to Costco (then the lady looks at how many kids), YES...you are very brave." "I think I had more dogs than you have kids, and I think dogs are easier" (Costco) "Thanks for being a mom!" "I have to tell you, wow, your kids are being so good. How do you do it? And you have so many kids!" (Eating dinner at Red Robin, and I think the lady had 1 maybe 2 kids) "I don't know how you do it, I had twins too." (Jarel going in the elevator with Tyler and Makena) The comments were great, the looks people gave me were even better! And let me tell you...so glad I have all FIVE kids!
