Alpine Slide

Jarel, myself and Kali had the opportunity to go down the Alpine slide and zip line. We invited Makena, but when she learned we would be going down the slide, she decided to stay home with Molly with the other kids.
Kali went down the slide with Grandpa…She was going so fast, I think Grandpa was a little frightened. Kali wrote in her journal about how she made Grandpa scared :) But they had a great time.
We then went to dinner at Billy Blanco's in Park City. A nice evening to spend with Jarel, Kali and the rest of the gang!
Riding up on the ski lift to get to the slide! Lots of laughs and fun

Going down the Alpine slide

Neil and Shirley on the zip line

not the best picture, but Kali loved picking the dead skin off of Grandpa's hand, and Grandpa loves it when Kali does. Just had to get a picture of it to document it!

Parade and Fishing

Walking to our spot. Herriman Parade…new family tradition. Only the 2nd year we have been going, but so much fun!

Tyler didn't make it to the parade, because he was fishing with Grandma, Grandpa and cousin Ryan. He slept over last night so they could wake up early and get worms for fishing. Tyler caught 3 fish.

Friends and Fun

Today we went with friends to the museum of natural curiosity. This was our first time going, and it was so crowded. Man was it crowded. It was fun, but I really couldn't appreciate it more because there were too many people. The kids didn't seem to mind and had a great time. Lots to explore and do. And everything in there, the kids can touch. They even have an outdoor garden discovery area where there is mazes, outdoor toys to play on, zip line and a water area to get wet. Good company, good times (most of the time when I could get around all the people!)

Under the Sea

Recent pictures of our aquarium visit. The whales were opened this time to climb on. And Tyler is always looking for the "biggest shark" in the tank so I can get a picture of it!

Love Notes

A note Kali wrote to Jarel.
"I love you Dad. I love more than ice cream and the TV. I love you, best Dad!"
This says a lot coming from this little girl who LOVES her TV and I-pad and LOVES ice cream…more importantly she LOVES her dad!

Dentist and Swimming

Yesterday, Tyler had to go back to the dentist to get a cavity fixed. He did so good and was very brave. It was a very quick procedure (about 15 minutes) and Tyler just laid there and watched "Reck it Ralph". Afterwards, he got to pick out 2 prizes from the treasure chest. He also got to ride on the merry-go-round!

In the afternoon I took the kids to the Herriman rec center for some swimming. It was a cold and raining day outside so we did some indoor swimming yesterday. I am nervous with my kids around water, but yesterday was great! Swimming lessons have paid off for the girls. They were comfortable in the water and could go all over the place and they knew how to swim! So I really just needed to keep my eyes on 3 little ones. We had such a great time. I didn't get a picture of Kali because she must have gone on the waterside 95% of the time we were there. She loved it. We got a nice surprise when Jarel showed up and got to swim with us. We ended up staying over 3 hours because they were having so much fun. Braxton and Hailey's lips were purple by the end because they were cold, but once in the warm shower they pinked right up.
So blessed we can do these things as a family. And that Jarel and I both have jobs that we can support our kids. A fun afternoon by all.

Pedicures

Part of Makena's birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway was a pedicure. Makena was so excited to go, she loves putting her feet in the warm water and having the person put lotion on her legs. Makena picked blue polish with a white flower on the big toes. I was able to tag along. Afterwards we went to Chuck-a-Rama for lunch. It was a good time. Glad I was able to spend time with Shirley and Makena this day. Puts a smile on my face with these 2.

Last day of School

Last day of 1st Grade

Last day of 3rd Grade
The girls have had another great year of school. Both have had great teachers and have learned and grown a lot. Both are above average in the reading. Both earned their Distinguished Dolphin award this year. And both are great students. They both have made great new friends this year, have had fun experiences and both will miss their teachers and friends. They will be on D track next year and won't start until August 19th, so they get an extra long summer this year, which they are excited about.
Jarel has been a little protective with these bunnies. Pretty sexy if you ask me! He will bring the bunnies inside and just hold them while watching TV or whatever. The kids found it very funny when one of them pooped and peed on his shirt. Jarel likes these bunnies more than what I thought he would have. We are bringing the bunnies in at night for now until they get used to being outside.
