October 29th, we went that afternoon/evening to Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway's ward for a trunk or treat and also dinner and some games for the kids. We go every year and every year the kids get more excited to go. They always come away with LOTS of candy and LOTS of fun. This year the games were a new thing. They got to go fishing, put the mouth on the pumpkin, candy walk and a bean bag toss. There was even a haunted house that they claimed "it is good for anyone." I took the kids to the haunted house and the first part was great. Dark, but not scary. They kids got to touch a heart (tomato), guts (spaghetti) and toes (hotdogs). They also got to see a witch stirring potion. After the potion, we walked around a corner and a "dead lady" popped up from under a sheet and scared my kids really bad. They were crying, grabbing onto me and they wanted to get out. We tried shielding them from the "dead lady" but they still saw it. I tried getting them out fast and once we turned another corner, there was bubble wrap on the ground and so when we stepped on it, it popped. They didn't like that at all, after just being frightened. We finally got out and Kali and Tyler said, "I don't want to go in there again!" and Makena said, "that was too scary." So...I think next year, no haunted house for us at the ward party!
It was a fun night there. After we went to Grandma's house and waited to hear from Jarel (he went to the Utah game and I was going to pick him up). The kids played, ate fruit and we just had a fun time!
