Potty Trained!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I now have only 2 in diapers!!!!!!!!! It is a happy day over here. Most people might not be happy having 2 in diapers, but I am thrilled. Tyler has done so well. The first day, no accidents at all and his belly was full of candy. He got a piece of candy every time he peed in the toilet. Come that night, he was complaining his belly hurt, so we decided to put money in the jar as well and he could pick between money or a piece of candy. The next day, we had a couple of accidents, which is to be expected. I hate potty training, and more for the fact that my kids are so scared to poop in the toilet. So, it is nasty to clean up after they poop in their underwear. I usually just throw the underwear away. So, Tyler was the same, didn't want to poop in the toilet. I tried giving him more treats and money if he pooped, that didn't seem to help. I tried making him clean up after himself (he cried and cried) and it worked for a day then he would do it again. So, Tyler has wanted a water gun that is battery operated. I put 3 dollar bills up on the fridge where he could see them. I told him if he could go an entire day without pooping in his underwear he would get a dollar. He earned his first, then a second and come that 3rd day he had an accident. It was last Saturday and I knew he was going to be able to do it, so we got the water gun anyways but he couldn't open it until he pooped in the toilet. Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway were watching them on the Saturday night, so he brought the gun over there. Needless to say, he was able to open up the gun and use it!!! And since then, he has been really good at going in the toilet. We do have our days, and the water gun gets put away, but then he is able to use it the next day when he goes again. Way to go Tyler!!
