Dog Sitting and Blanket Collecting

We watched our neighbor's dog over Labor Day weekend and the kids LOVED Daisy. They loved playing with her, feeding her and taking her on walks. They even tried teaching her a few tricks. She was a good little puppy for us and did good in a new environment.
Also, Makena was reading the friend one day and came across an article on the Humanitarian Center and how people make stuff or donate stuff to the center to help people. She wanted to make dolls, but that was out of my league. So she decided that she could collect blankets for people that won't have them. She wrote up a flier and we made copies and she took them around the neighborhood. On Saturday, we went collecting and she collected 68 blankets. She said (before we started to collect blankets) that she would be happy with 10. Once we got 68 blankets and people were saying they would bring over more, her goal grew to 100. She is up to 108 and now we just need to find the time to take them to the center! It was fun to watch her achieve her goal.
