Easter was spread out over a couple of days! Saturday we took the kids to the egg scramble at the park. They had so much fun. Jarel went with Tyler, and I took the girls to their age group spot. Jarel said that once Tyler knew what was going on...he got down there and got the candy in his basket. Makena loves watching people, so she would pick up a piece of candy (and she is very selective on what she wants and is always looking out for others. She told me she picked up a almond joy candy bar because she knew I would like that. We gave it to Dad instead...but she is such a sweetheart. Always thinking of others.) and put the candy in her basket and then watch the other kids and then would get another piece. Kali got right to work, getting all the candy she could. She was super excited to show me that she got a lot of bubble gum!
After the egg hunt, we went home and worked on the basement for a little bit and then went to Costco to pick up last minute things for our egg hunt/dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Hathaways. The kids dyed eggs and had a blast getting their fingers all colored, and then they went on a egg hunt. I loved what Grandma Hathaway did this year for the kids. She got them little toys or chapsticks that would fit into the eggs. The kids were so excited opening up their eggs and finding balloons, candy necklace, chapstick, lip gloss, silly putty, bouncy balls and other fun stuff. A huge success with my kids!
We stayed and played with cousins, ate dinner and just made a day of it hanging out over there. It was a very nice day! The kids got bathed and then we headed home to get ready for the Easter Bunny. I totally forgot to buy carrots this year to leave out for the Easter Bunny, so instead Makena found cheese and crackers to put out, hoping he would like it! She also left some water to drink. We got our baskets out and put by the front door and then the kids all went to sleep. It was a very fun day.
