Katelyn was such a sweet friend and took Makena's hand and told her she would help her in the whirlpool area. So glad Makena has so many good friends!

This year for Makena's friend birthday party, she wanted to go swimming. This was a big step for Makena because she is not a very big fan of the water, just yet (we are doing swimming lessons again to get her more comfortable in the water). Makena invited her good friends and we went to the Herriman Rec Center for swimming! Makena loved it, she played mostly in the shallow end, but with her friend's encouragement and help, she ventured into the whirlpool area and had a big smile on her face when she learned it wasn't scary and that she could do it! After swimming we came back to our house and had pizza, breadsticks and fruit and she opened up her presents and then wanted birthday popsicles this year! Makena has grown so much this year. She is a great kid and just an example to me!
