Grandma's Funeral

Grandma Hathaway's funeral was today. The funeral services were a nice tribute to her. Before Grandma passed away, she told Neil that she wanted him to talk, but he had to keep it short so the audience doesn't get bored!
Jarel had a hard time with her passing. He related some memories to me that he had of her: (Jarel's words) She was my favorite Grandma. We would go over to her house, and there wasn't a Saturday that we went over there that she didn't have homemade bread waiting for us. She made great lemon meringue pie, that's where my dad learned how to make them. I loved going over there, we could be boys and just have a great time.
At the cemetery, after they dedicated the grave, anyone that wanted to could write a note to Grandma on her casket. I had never seen this done before, but I thought it was really neat.
She was a sweet Grandma, always putting others first. She told Neil she didn't want everyone after the funeral to go back to the church and have dinner. She wanted us to go to her favorite restaurant (Golden Corral) and have a party, and celebrate!
She will be missed, but we are grateful for her life her and her example to us all. She was "faithful to the end" and we will be able to see her again.
