Ruth Russell Hathaway passed away December 3, 2011 at the home of her daughter Debra. She was born to Vera Gibbons and Charles Lyman Russell in Kamas, Utah, May 15, 1921. She often spoke of riding a horse to school in the winter. Ruth was devoted to raising and caring for her family and enjoyed teaching them her many talents, including sewing, cooking and playing the piano. She was an active member of the LDS Faith and married Lorenzo Dee Hathaway on October 11, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 10 children who love her dearly, Cheryl (Deceased), Denton (Pam), Wendell (Kathy), Diana (Keith), Neil (Shirley), Sheldon, Debra, Tillman (Sue), Karla (Bart), and Kirtrine (Brent). She is survived by siblings June, Ina, Raymond, Charlyn and Karma. She is survived by 38 grandchildren and many more great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Lorenzo, daughter Cheryl, siblings Austin and Iris.
Viewing will be held Wednesday Evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Estates 5850 S. 900 E. Funeral services Thursday 12:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior at Kearns 21st Ward 4270 W. 5780 So.
