Let It Snow!

Last night was had a huge snow storm. We got about 6-8 inches of snow when we woke up this morning. It was crazy. I knew it was going to snow...but I didn't think we would get this much snow. Jarel went outside to snow blow and of course the kids wanted to go out and play. I got them suited up...the best we could and sent them outside to play. We were not prepared for the snow...hence Kali doesn't have boots, Makena was missing a glove and had to borrow one of mine (she lost one of hers at school last week) and poor Tyler had to wear purple boots. Needless to say, we need to go to the store and get the kids some winter stuff so they can go play in the snow.

The kids had so much fun.

Kali: She was running, crawling, jumping, licking and throwing the snow. She didn't care that she didn't have boots and that her feet and legs were cold. She was having so much fun and loving every second of it. She was throwing snow balls at Dad and at the neighbor. She loved eating the snow and sledding down the hill. She didn't want to come inside and get ready for church. When she did, her nose was red and her little legs were red because of the no boot thing and her pants were soaking wet. All smiles on this girl!

Makena: She loved going down the slide, going down the hill in the sled and making snow angels. She loves playing in the snow. Makena also enjoys eating the snow! It is fun to watch her having fun. When she came in the house, we took off her coat and there was snow in her hood, in her boots, in her coat, everywhere. I had to clean up the floor after all of her snow clothes were off. She had a little red nose and a smile!

Tyler: Hard to believe but this was his first time playing in the snow that I can remember. He didn't quite know what to think at first. He just stayed in the garage watching everyone. I told him to touch the snow, and he barely got his glove and boot in the snow. And he was happy with that. He finally braved the snow and stepped about 2-3 steps and then was out of it pretty fast. He enjoyed being outside, but was ready to go inside with me, when I went in to feed Hailey. Once we got in, he was on the couch by me snuggling to get warm.

They say that more snow is coming Tuesday night and that the temperatures are suppose to be in the low 20's for the high. Glad I don't have to go anywhere the next couple of days (just to take Makena to school) so we can stay inside, snuggle under blankets and watch some movies!

Here's to warm thoughts!!!

She she decided it was easier to crawl on top of the snow.
