Haystack Candy Dive

We always try and make it to the Riverton Town Days at the park with Grandma and Grandpa. This year we didn't get to a lot of it, trying to finish the basement in time for carpet. But me and the kids went and picked up Grandpa and Grandma and headed to the park for a snow cone and the haystack candy dive. The kids love doing this. The sun was out, it was a hot afternoon so the snow cone helped cool us down and to get ready for the candy dive. The kids came away with a couple of toys and candy. It is funny to see parents at these things. They are very competitive and are telling their kids to forget the candy...go for the money (quarters) and you get in there and grab everything. Some parents even go in and pick up the stuff for the kids. I'm glad I am not one of those parents. I tell my kids get whatever you want and when you think you have what you want, you can come out. If they come away with 3 pieces or whatever...it was a great time! After the police car signals the end of the dive, the kids always come out with big smiles eager to tell us what they got.
